Mike Hollingshead, the Chairman and Founder of SRM Concrete, established the company in 1999 to address his own concrete needs. As a concrete finisher frustrated with the inadequate customer service from local ready-mix suppliers, he decided to take matters into his own hands. With minimal resources and just three trucks, Mike and his wife, Melissa set up a concrete plant in their own backyard. Since then, SRM Concrete has evolved from a small business into an industry leader. SRM Concrete remains a family-owned and operated company. Mike focuses on the long-term goals of the company, oversees many special projects, and maintains relationships with potential sellers for future acquisitions. His commitment extends beyond business; he is also a devoted philanthropist, actively supporting children's charities and enhancing the quality of life in his hometown of Rutherford County.
Chief Executive Officer
Jeff Hollingshead is the Chief Executive Officer of SRM Concrete where he oversees a team of dedicated professionals. As CEO, Jeff has developed strategies that place the company at a competitive advantage by implementing new practices not seen in the ready-mix industry. He coordinates the closing and integration of all acquisitions while overseeing and defining the organization's structure and culture. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Belmont University. Growing up working in this business, he witnessed how hard work and a strong work ethic are keys to success. A man of strong faith in God, Jeff believes in the value of giving back. Jeff and his wife, Holly, have three children.

SRM Materials President
With over a decade of industry experience, Ryan serves as the President of SRM Materials and the Finishing Division, overseeing a multistate operation. He manages the day-to-day operations at our quarries, maintains strong relationships with material suppliers, and supervises concrete finishing activities. An avid athlete, Ryan has completed two Ironman competitions and three full marathons. He enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and shares a fulfilling family life with his wife and their four children.

Chief Technical Officer
Mike joined SRM Concrete in 2014 and brings more than 35 years of industry experience to his role as Chief Technical Officer. During his career, Mike has served in a broad range of leadership roles and has significant industry experience, especially in batching and concrete mixing as well as helping to create the first safety standards for ready-mix truck manufacturing. Mike is a Dale Carnegie and FMI Leadership Institute graduate. He has held numerous leadership positions in Concrete Industry Associations including past President and past Board Member for the Tennessee Concrete Association and a variety of leadership roles with the National Ready Mix Concrete Association. Outside of work, Mike enjoys going camping with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren.

Chief Financial Officer
J.D. joined SRM Concrete in 2009 as Comptroller before being promoted to CFO in 2014. He is responsible for all company financials, forecast and budget planning, inventory and costing management, and cash flow and treasury management. J.D. develops and implements new accounting systems and procedures to improve financial reporting, internal controls, and back-office efficiencies. He also plays an integral part in raising capital, syndication relationships, and closing of acquisitions. J.D. earned an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University.

Chief Human Resources Officer
Beth Smotherman brings a wealth of experience to her role as Chief Human Resources Officer at SRM Concrete. Since joining the company in 2003, she has overseen all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, benefits administration, training and development, and employee relations. Her leadership ensures a positive and productive work environment for SRM Concrete's team members. Beth and her husband, BJ, enjoy spending time with her son and grandson.

Division President - Southwest
John Van Cheek is the Southwest Division President at SRM Concrete. John graduated from the Concrete Industry Management program and received his MBA from Middle Tennessee State University, where he also competed in Track and Cross Country. John has been in the Concrete Industry since 2006 and served as SRM's Quality Control Manager for 5 years before serving as our Operations Manager. After serving as the first North Division President, John transitioned to his current role as Southwest Division President after SRM expanded into Texas. John enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Division President - North
Zach Gallaher is the North Division President at SRM Concrete where he leads Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky teams. Before taking on the role as Division President, Zach served as the GM for the tri-state areas of Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio. Having worked for SRM Concrete since 2008, he has experience in a number of roles in the concrete industry. Zach says he appreciates the family-oriented approach of the company leadership. Zach pushes the importance of safety and promotes good health to his team as well as donating his time to charities that protect safety in his community. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.

Division President - West
PJ Whittaker is the West Division President, serving Colorado and Wyoming. PJ, one of SRM's first team members, worked in nearly every capacity at SRM before being named GM in Nashville, Tn and stepping into the GM role in Colorado in 2023. PJ leads a team of talented operators and dispatchers in one of SRM's largest markets.PJ is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.

Division President - South
Ben Brooks is our South Division President where he oversees the Florida, Southern Alabama, and Southern Georgia regions. He joined SRM in 2013 as a dispatcher and after 5 years was promoted to GM in Central Kentucky before accepting his current role. He attended MTSU, where he was part of the Concrete Industry Management program. In his off time, Ben enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, and cheering on all the Tennessee sports teams. He and his wife, Ashley have a daughter and a son.

Division President - East
Jeff Bryant is the East Division President at SRM Concrete where he oversees day-to-day operations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Savannah, GA. In 1985, he began working in the concrete industry as a mixer operator, and through persistent hard work, Jeff rose into various positions of leadership. When not spending time with his wife, son, and two dogs, Jeff volunteers his time at several children’s charities. He also enjoys golfing, fishing, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers.

Jason Mitchell is the Central Division President. Jason led our dispatch office in one of SRM's busiest areas before stepping into the General Manager role in Nashville. Jason was then promoted to Central Division President where he oversees the locations in Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, North Georgia, and North Alabama.

Division President - Northeast
Dan serves as our Northeast Division President where he oversees the operations of over 30 plants in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Prior to SRM's expansion into the Northeast, Dan was our GM in the Detroit market. Dan started in the industry as a Mixer Operator in 2003, since then, he has served in multiple roles including Dispatcher, Sales, and Plant Manager. Dan and his wife, Priscilla, have one son, Carter. In Dan's freetime, he coaches baseball and barbecuing with his family.

Chief Information Officer
Teddy Hazelwood is the Chief Information Officer based out of the Home Office in Smyrna. Teddy has been in the IT field for more than thirty-five years. He earned an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Technologies degree from Middle Tennessee State University. Teddy and his wife, Joy, have four children and twelve grandchildren.

Dale is the Vice President for Aggregates for SRM Materials and oversees daily operations. Dale earned a Civil Engineering degree from Tennessee Technological University and has extensive experience in the building materials industry with a focus on asphalt paving, site layouts, aggregates, barge movements, cost analysis, process improvements, and business planning.

Chief Marketing Officer
Lora Smith serves as the Chief Marketing Officer at SRM Concrete, where she has been pivotal in integrating marketing strategies for over 100 acquisitions. Under her leadership, SRM has developed a best-in-class marketing strategy that leverages both traditional and non-traditional methods. In addition to her role in marketing, Lora hosts the weekly SRM podcast, As The Drum Turns, and is responsible for organizing numerous team member and customer events across multiple states. Lora oversees the SRM Foundation which consists of over 950 Community Partnerships throughout all 19 states. She is a Board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Rutherford County, a member of Rutherford Cable and the Blue Raider Athletic Association. Lora volunteers her time at Saint Rose of Lima School, where she coaches Cross Country and Girls Basketball. Lora and her husband, Wesley, have two daughters.

Fleet Manager
Chris Ross serves as the Fleet Manager at SRM, responsible for managing a vast fleet of mixers, tankers, loaders, and mining equipment. Leading a dynamic team of shop managers, Chris ensures our trucks remain operational across over 150 mechanic shops nationwide. With a degree in Electronics and a career in turning wrenches since 1986, Chris entered the Concrete Industry in 1992. Outside of work, he enjoys family time with his wife, Dana, their son Cody, daughter Miranda, and three grandchildren.

General Counsel
J.D. is General Counsel for SRM and has provided legal services for the Company in various capacities since 2010. J.D. received his undergraduate degree from Furman University in 2002 and his law degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2005. He was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2005. J.D. began his legal career with the law firm of Kious, Rodgers, Barger, Holder & King, PLLC, where he was a partner until his move to SRM in 2020. J.D. also has extensive real estate experience, having owned a large full-service real estate title and escrow company for over 10 years.

Chief Accounting Officer
Patrick is the Chief Accounting Officer for SRM and is responsible for financial reporting functions of the company including mentoring and managing our accounting staff. He also plays an integral part in assessing and analyzing our acquisition strategy. Prior to joining SRM, Patrick was a partner at a Top 20 accounting firm specializing in financial statement audit services, and acquisitions. Patrick received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Florida State University and his MBA from Florida Atlantic University. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the states of Tennessee and Delaware. Patrick and his wife Lauren, have four children.

Chief Sustainability Officer
Danielle is our Chief Sustainability Officer at SRM Concrete. She entered the concrete industry in 2005 gaining experience in environmental compliance, motor carrier compliance, and operations. Danielle oversees our environmental team and ensures our plants are in compliance with all federal and local guidelines. She also oversees SRM's big-picture environmental efforts. Danielle and her husband, Erik, have two daughters. When she's not cheering on the FL State Seminoles, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family and dog on the water.
