SMYRNA, TN – June 14, 2024

SRM Materials’ Cherokee, Alabama quarry officially started production of limestone aggregates. Located 30 miles from Muscle Shoals and three miles from the Mississippi state line, the majority of the rock produced at the site will be transported into The Magnolia State. The installation of the crushing and conveying equipment was completed in May, and production began shortly after.

SRM Materials’ President of Aggregates, Ryan Hollingshead stated, “We’re proud of the team in Cherokee, Alabama as their hard work over the course of this project has come to completion. This site will allow us to begin supplying aggregate to Mississippi including the SRM Concrete block plant in Tupelo.”

Born out of a need to supply SRM Concrete plants with quality aggregates, SRM Materials has expanded to 27 sites across nine states, producing and supplying limestone, river rock, and sand products.

Established in 1999 by Mike and Melissa Hollingshead in Smyrna, Tennessee, the family-owned company owns and operates an expansive network of ready-mix concrete plants, quarries, cement terminals, and other ancillary services across 19 states.
